When I lived in Florida, my house was in a gated community. At one entrance the gate had two lanes. One was manned by a guard and the other by an RFID reader. Because I was a resident, I had an RFID badge so every time I returned home, instead of checking in with the gate guard, I simply sailed under the gate’s arm.
When you think about it, the kingdom of God is a gated community. Indeed Jesus said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
In my community’s case, my access was gained through the RFID badge. In the kingdom of God, it’s my belief in Jesus and my salvation that allows me entry. Jesus said in the book of John, “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.” So in a sense, he is the believer’s spiritual RFID badge.
Unlike my gated community which had multiple access points for me to reach my home, there is only one gate to heaven—through belief in Jesus and confessing him as lord and savior. He is the only RFID pass into eternity—no matter what other religions might profess.
So, do you have access to the gated community of heaven? If not, what’s keeping you from accepting Jesus and getting your spiritual RFID badge? Do you have doubts about him being fully God and fully man? That he lived a sinless life? Or maybe you’ve believed the lie that you can just be a good person and do good things and you’ll go to heaven. There is no way to work or sweet talk your way through the gate. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. And as he said, “no man comes to the father except through me.”
So if you still don’t have your access pass, I encourage you to sit down with a trusted Christian friend, pastor, or your Bible and find answers to your questions. The kingdom of God is coming soon. Make sure you have entry into it.
